Presentation of the book “Russian Old-Time settlers of Mongolia…” in Moscow
On December 9th, 2024, the project team held a presentation of the book “Russian Old-Time settlers of Mongolia: Memoirs, Essays, and Photographs” and the launch of the project’s website at the House of Russian Abroad named after Alexander Solzhenitsyn.
V.L. Klyaus and D.B. Sundueva spoke about the process of compiling the book, A.N. Bitkeeva and E.V. Komkova told about their fieldwork in Mongolia, S.A. Fedotova presented the website of the project.
Alongside the project team, the event was attended by scholars from research institutes and universities, whose interests lay in the field of history of the Russian diaspora and the preservation of cultural traditions in Russia and Mongolia, as well as academics from the People’s Republic of China. Contributions to the discussion came from Olga Artemova (DSc in History, Leading Researcher of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences), Elena Nazemtseva (DSc in History, Leading Researcher of the Institute of of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences), Elena Fyodorova (PhD in Psychology, Docent in the Russian State University for the Humanities & Moscow State Pedagogical University) and Antonina Rostovskaya (Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Childhood at the Moscow State Pedagogical University).
