The A.S. Pushkin Transbaikal Regional Universal Scientific Library, the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Chita, and the Department of International Law and International Relations of the Transbaikal State University organized a seminar titled «Russian old-settlers of Mongolia: memory and folklore.”

The third secretary of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Chita, A.V. Sedunov, delivered the opening remarks. D.B. Sundueva, DSc in Cultural Studies, gave a presentation on the topic “Russian old-settlers of Mongolia – who are they?”. V.L. Klyaus, DSc in Philology, addressed oral literature with a presentation on “Folklore of Russian old-settlers of Mongolia: characteristics and genres”.

As part of the Round Table, a discussion was held on the history of the formation, historical experience, social, cultural, and spiritual life of the Russian old-settlers population in Mongolia. Participants included A.P. Tarasov, head of the Chinese Culture Sector of the A.S. Pushkin Transbaikal Regional Universal Scientific Library, as well as students and faculty of Transbaikal State University.
