From August 6 to 25, 2023, V.L. Klyaus, A.N. Bitkeeva, D.B. Sundueva, E.A. Volkova, A.V. Isakov, and E.V. Komkova conducted field research in Mongolia to collect data on the Russian old-settlers. The team made audio/video recordings and studied home archives of members of the Russian community in Ulaanbaatar, Darkhan and Züünkharaa.
In the field, the researchers recorded oral stories about the past, wrote down biographical and historical narratives and documented some rites.
